Your Right to Delete Your Account
At TrueBondr, we respect your right to control your personal data. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time. This policy explains the account deletion process, what data is deleted, what is retained, and the timeline for complete removal.
Please read this policy carefully before proceeding with account deletion, as this action is permanent and cannot be undone.
1. How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: Through Website
- Visit our website and log into your account
- Click on your profile picture
- Select "Settings" from the dropdown
- Navigate to "Privacy & Security"
- Click "Delete Account"
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm deletion
Option 2: Request via Email
If you cannot access your account or prefer email:
Send an email to: truebondr63@gmail.com
Include the following information:
- Your registered email address
- Your account profile name
- Phone number associated with the account
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- A brief reason for deletion (optional)
We'll verify your identity and process the request within 3-5 business days.
2. What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Once deleted, you cannot recover your account, matches, messages, or any other data.
Immediate Effects:
- Your profile will be immediately hidden from all users
- You will be logged out of all devices
- You will no longer appear in search results or recommendations
- Your matches will no longer be able to contact you
- All active chats and conversations will be terminated
- You will lose access to premium features immediately
Within 30 Days:
During this period, we begin the process of permanently removing your data from our active systems. However, your account enters a "deactivated" state where recovery is still technically possible if you contact us urgently.
After 30 Days:
Complete deletion is finalized. Your account and data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered under any circumstances.
3. Data That Will Be Deleted
When you delete your account, the following information will be permanently removed:
Profile Data:
- Name, age, gender, and bio
- Profile photos and uploaded media
- Location and preferences
- Interests, hobbies, and personal details
- Verification status and badges
Activity Data:
- Swipe history and match history
- All messages and conversations
- Likes given and received
- Profile views and visitor history
- Search history and filters used
Account Information:
- Email address and phone number
- Login credentials
- Connected social media accounts
- Device information and app settings
4. Data That May Be Retained
For legal, security, or operational reasons, we may retain certain information even after account deletion:
Transaction Records (Up to 7 Years):
- Payment history and invoices (for tax and accounting purposes)
- Subscription purchase records
- Refund and billing dispute records
Required by Indian tax laws and financial regulations
Safety and Legal Records (Up to 90 Days or Longer):
- Records of violations, bans, or suspensions
- Reports you filed or reports filed against you
- Safety incident logs
- Data related to ongoing legal proceedings or investigations
Retained for community safety and legal compliance
Anonymized Data (Indefinitely):
- Aggregated statistics and analytics
- De-identified usage patterns
- Anonymized demographic data
This data cannot be linked back to you personally
Messages in Others' Accounts:
Messages you sent to other users will remain visible in their chat history. However, your profile information will show as "Deleted User" and your photos will be removed.
5. Subscription and Payment Considerations
Important: Deleting your account does NOT automatically cancel your subscription or stop recurring payments.
Before Deleting Your Account:
- Cancel subscriptions first: Go to subscription settings and cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account
- No refunds: Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund for unused subscription time
- Premium features lost: Any remaining premium features or credits will be forfeited
- Check your app store: If you subscribed through Google Play or Apple App Store, cancel there as well to prevent future charges
Steps to Cancel Subscription:
- Go to Settings in the app
- Select "Subscription Management"
- Choose "Cancel Subscription"
- Follow the confirmation steps
- Wait for cancellation confirmation email
- Then proceed with account deletion
6. Deletion Timeline
Immediately
Profile hidden, account deactivated, logout from all devices
Within 24 Hours
Removed from search, recommendations, and active systems
Within 7 Days
Profile data and photos deleted from primary databases
Within 30 Days
Complete removal from active systems, backups begin to cycle out
Within 90 Days
Full deletion complete, including backup systems (except retained data as outlined above)
7. Alternatives to Deletion
If you're not sure about permanently deleting your account, consider these alternatives:
Temporarily Hide Your Profile
- Your profile will be hidden from others
- Your data remains intact
- You can reactivate anytime
- No one can contact you while hidden
Take a Break
- Simply log out and don't use the app
- Your profile stays active but you're not obligated to respond
- Come back whenever you're ready
Adjust Privacy Settings
- Limit who can see your profile
- Control who can message you
- Hide specific information
8. Creating a New Account
After deleting your account, you can create a new account at any time using the same or different email address. However:
- Your new account will start fresh with no previous data, matches, or messages
- If you were banned or suspended, you will not be allowed to create a new account
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans is prohibited and may result in permanent IP ban
- Previous subscription benefits do not transfer to new accounts
9. Compliance with Indian Data Protection Laws
Our account deletion process complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and related rules including the Personal Data Protection Bill provisions. You have the right to:
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Receive confirmation of deletion
- Understand what data is retained and why
- File complaints with appropriate authorities if you believe your rights are violated
10. Deletion Confirmation
After you request account deletion:
- You'll receive an immediate confirmation email acknowledging your deletion request
- A second email will be sent within 24 hours confirming your profile has been removed
- A final confirmation will be sent after 30 days when deletion is complete
